“Color your Life” – Paintball in Rostock

Paintball is becoming more and more popular. Like most fun sports, Paintball was invented in the USA. Over the last few years the Paintball-Community in Germany has grown bigger and bigger, to the point where there are now a lot of good Teams and modern Paintball-Parks all over Germany.

Near Rostock is one of Mecklenburg Western Pomerania’s best Paintball Parks: the Paintball Park Purkshof. The fields are located in a little forest, which is very convenient because all the natural cover makes it very authentic and fun to play on.

The easiest way to get there is by car, but don’t worry, you can also use the public transportation system: when departing from “Rostock HBF” take the tram 04 heading for “Dierkow” and hop off at “Dierkower Kreuz”. From there, take the bus 18 heading for “Hohe Düne Fähre”. Get off that bus at “Jürgeshof”. Then you’ll have to go the rest of the way on foot, and there you are!

That was actually the hardest part of the day because the people who work at the Paintball Park Purkshof are all extremely friendly and cooperative. Once you are there, they will take care of you and show you the fields, the equipment and the facilities.

The most important thing is to make an appointment for a paintball field. You can do that on the webpage (http://www.psv-hro.de/?page_id=18) with your name, holiday address and the time and date when you want to play. If you want to play on the weekend, that is no problem and I would recommend that. To play during the week might be problematic because the people who work there are doing it voluntarily and they might be busy with their jobs and families. This picture shows you what you have to fill in into the reservation form. If you have send the contact form, you will get an email with a banking account and you will have to make an advance payment to get your paintball field confirmation. This advance payment is 10€ for each player and will later be subtracted from the final bill. When you get this confirmation email you have 7 days to do the bank transfer. In case of a cancelation request they have a 3 day rule. You will get your advance payment back if you cancel 3 days before your appointment. If you cancel on a shorter notice you will not get you advance payment back and if you don‘t cancel at all and don‘t show up they will take the liberty to charge you with a fee of 200€ for there effort. To do the bank transfer you can go to a common bank and do the transfer at a counter.

You can also check out their web page http://www.psv-hro.de/.

You have to state how many players will be playing, and most importantly, every player has to be at least 18 years old (bring a Passport for confirmation).

You can choose from three different game packages which all contain, protective equipment like a mask, a battle pack for the paintballs and a paintball marker. They only differ concerning the prize, depending on how many paintballs you want. You can chose between 500 (39€), 1000 (49€) or 2000 (65€) balls. For the amateur player 500 balls should suffice.

Other equipment, like clothes to play in and spare clothes to change into afterwards, you have to bring yourself. You also need to bring food and drinks, but keep in mind that you are not allowed to play under the influence of alcohol. After the game time, you can have a barbecue, and use the available barbecues for free. You only have to bring charcoal and the food.

To get back to Rostock you can take bus. The latest departure is 10:22 pm from the bus stop in Jürgshof.

Enjoy your day!
