It is Sunday morning and you wake up with a tremendous desire for pancakes. But you don’t have all the ingredients in your house to make those fluffy, filling pancakes. What are you going do and where are you going to go? I can absolutely recommend to breakfast at Café Central. It is a rustic but modern café in the Leonhardstraße near the Brink and Doberaner Platz. When you step into the locality, at first glance, it seems a little too dark and outmoded but once you have a seat, you’ll feel comfortable. The location is quite spacious, sometimes a little too loud but nevertheless worth having a coffee or the yummiest breakfast.
My boyfriend and I absolutely love to go out and eat breakfast. But, sometimes, the buffet served at Alex’ is way too heavy, if you are seeking for a light meal to start your day just right. Alex provides you with everything you need: bread, bread rolls, eggs served in different versions, jam, sausage, cheese, cereal, joghurt, fruit, antipast and so on and so forth. This is definitely the best buffet in whole Rostock for the best price €9,50 Monday till Saturday. They even serve more dishes on Saturday for their brunch buffet for €13,20. Café Central does not convince with a huge buffet variety because you will have to choose á la carte and will, therefore, definitely not overeat. I always choose the scrambled eggs with parmesan for €4,10 or the absolutely amazing buttermilk pancakes with maple sirup for only €4. Since I am not a bread or bread rolls person, I can absolutely recommend trying the pancakes: the fluffiest and most delicious I’ve ever tested. The Likörfabrik also serves breakfast á la carte on weekends which is also enjoyable and quite similar to the rest of Café Central’s breakfast menu but Central’s pancakes are competitively exceptional.
Café Central offers also various kinds of cakes or tart in the afternoon and several coffee specialties the whole day. I absolutely love that you can choose a flavor (including vanilla, caramel, hazelnut) for your Latte Macchiato: I adore the vanilla flavor! It is also an inviting location to have a glass of wine in the evening or eat dinner in summer because they have a very lovely terrace to catch some rays of sunshine.
