Rolling the dice in Rostock

There is a certain group of people; which childishly enjoys the joy of rolling dice and pushing around little toy soldiers. These people (including myself!)  have a deep obsession with a tabletop games like Warhammer, Warhammer 40k, Warmachine or Flames of War, to name some of the most popular ones.

If you’re traveling and share the same kind of joy mentioned, then you’ll most likely ask your self if there are any opportunities to play in Rostock. Luckily I can tell you that we’ve got 2 big table-top-clubs in Rostock, and in addition to that, we’ve got 2 pretty well equipped shops for your needs as well. 🙂

As a member one of these clubs, “the Imperators treueste Trinker”, namely, I can tell you that we’re always looking for people to play against, and you could easily contact us via our homepage. Just leave us a message and we’ll let you know if we can provide you with an opponent and a location. The second club is more focused around the artistic part of the hobby but they enjoy the gaming side equally. I should mention that Warhammer 40k is somewhat dominant in Rostock, but you can find players for nearly any game if you ask around enough. (I, for instance, own a 40k army as well as two for Warhammer fantasy)

Shop-wise, you’ll be able to find 2 shops in Rostock (seems like 2 is the magic number!). The first is called “Hoffmanns Spielzeugladen” in Warnemünde, a charming little shop with a lot more than plain tabletop supplies. It’s a full grown toy shop with all the pleasantries. The second shop is located more in the city center of Rostock.  The “Fantastische Welten” also carries a selection of manga books and role-play supplies.

If you want to play with us or anybody else in these shops, it’d best to contact us first, so that we could make arrangements with the shopkeepers. I don’t think it would be a problem to just stumble into the shop and look for someone to play, but it’s most likely wise to let the shopkeeper know beforehand and your chances of finding someone to play with will dramatically increase if you write the two major clubs in Rostock.

From time to time, my club and I even organize whole tournaments. At the moment we have about 3 tournaments a year; you can check them out at tabletopturniere.de. This site is used to organize nearly every tournament in Germany for many kinds of tabletops. So, surfing around on this site could be very useful  in general, if you plan to take your army with you.

Maybe we’ll see each other for a game or two in the future. 🙂
