This week I had the chance to take a look at the café-bar ‘Barfuß’ for you. Barfuß is German for barefoot and that is the Leitmotif of the café, which means that you are encouraged to hang out and relax without your shoes on. The Staff Interview
1. Introduce yourself and your business to our readers!
Barfuß is a café and cocktail bar that launched 10 weeks ago. The stuff is made mostly of students and made for students. But everyone here can enjoy it no matter if they are young or old.
2. Why should people choose your place? What are your special attributes?
The most important thing is that people can relax and enjoy themselves. To create this kind of atmosphere we encourage that our guests can take off their shoes and enjoy the familiar atmosphere. This is the only place in Rostock that has this special attribute, I recommend to check it out.
3. What is the best time to come to this location?
Generally you can have a good time here at all times of the day, every day in the week. But something that you should remember is our happy hour that lasts till 9 pm and reduces the price of all cocktails to € 3,50.
4. What would you recommend to order? What are your specialties?
What I really recommend is our cocktail that shares it’s name with our café – Barfuß. It’s a refreshing drink with lots of delicious ingredients. You should order it when you visit us!

Sometimes we feel like the staff is too busy for their own good. There are times when you wait far too long for your order to arrive.

I was there on Monday and it was really lovely! The weather was perfect to sit outside and there was a big area to do that; not like other places where you sit close to the next table.
The cocktails are great and during the happy hour very cheap. But I agree that they have to work on the service during happy hours because it takes to much time for ordered cocktails to arrive.
Interesting are the specialities you can order: We tried bugs; next time we will take ants or maybe scorpions?! 😀
What a great idea!
I love to be barfooted so i definitly will love it to drink my coffee without having my shoes on.
Lisa and I went there the first time last Wednesday in the afternoon in order to take our barbie pictures about “clubbing”.
And I must admit that I really like this place, the dark furniture with the changing lights and the modern design in general. And to be barfooted, too! That is much more relaxed than just sitting in a chair.
The staff was very friendly and asked once in a while how our project was going. So we had a funny stay there! XD
